Howard X, an Australian comedian known for impersonating Kim Jong Un, arrived in Singapore early on Friday where he was promptly detained by police
Howard said he was held for three hours and questioned over his political beliefs before being freed. He is now planning a series of stunts with Trump impersonator Dennis Alan
Howard X said he was detained on arrival at Singapore's Changi Airport in the early hours.
He said: '(They) asked me what my political views were and if I have been involved with protests in other countries.'
He added that he was told to stay away from Sentosa Island and the Shangri-La, two areas that are designated 'special event areas' for the summit.
Trump and Kim will hold their historic meeting on Sentosa, off Singapore's main island, while Trump will reportedly stay in the five-star Shangri-La.
The lookalike said he was asked if he had participated in Hong Kong's 'Occupy Central' protest movement, to which he responded he had.
'They said, "It's the Trump-Kim summit, you've come at a very sensitive time."'
Howard first drew the world's attention when he appeared in front of the North Korean cheerleading squad at the Pyongchang Winter Olympics earlier this year
The real Kim Jong Un is due in Singapore on Tuesday where he will become the first North Korean leader ever to meet a US President
Howard X was in Singapore late last month, posing as Kim Jong Un against a backdrop of the city's bay which features sites such as the Merlion and the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
He said he is planning similar stunts for the purpose of political satire in the coming days, this time in tow with Donald Trump impersonator Dennis Alan.
He added that he is not planning any protests.
Rights groups have criticised Singapore's laws that they say limit critical speech and peaceful assembly.
Protests have to be pre-approved and are allowed only at a designated downtown area called the Speakers' Corner.
