Lindsey Vonn gushes boyfriend Tiger Woods got her through a brutal ski crash recovery because he's 'very patient' and 'mentally tough'

In a rare moment of opening her heart up, Lindsey Vonn gushed about boyfriend Tiger Woods on Monday's Today show.
While speaking to friend Matt Lauer during a one-on-one interview, the downhill skier talked up her golfer boyfriend of over seven months.
'He's very patient,' she said, and commented that he taught her to take it slowly when she was recovering from a near career-ending crash earlier this year.

Looking gorgeous with flowing blonde locks and wearing a form-fitting beige sweater, the athlete credits Tiger - who she has been supporting during his golf competitions this year - with helping her make a startling comeback.
After a crash on the SuperG slopes in Austria this February, he sent his private jet to transport Lindsey, who also visited the Tonight Show with David Letterman on Monday,  back to the US.

During recovery, he was by her side, telling her to focus. 'He’s very mentally tough. He’s a grinder. He works extremely hard, and he’s obviously also had an ACL injury as well and had the same surgery, so he knew what I was going through.
'He said just be patient, keep working hard, and everything is going to turn around. It really helped me get through it.'

As for her recovery, she said she 'feels great' and that she can't tell the difference between her injured knee and her non-injured knee.
The Saint Paul, Minnesota native also commented that she has no fear about competing in the Sochi 2014 winter Olympic games in Russia and said, 'I'm kinda weird. You have to be a little crazy to be a downhill skier.'

When asked why she doesn't just 'rest on your resume,' and retire, Lindsey stated, 'I don't want [the crash] to be the final moment of my career. I have plenty of motivation.'
As far as whether she will be standing on the medal stage during the Olympics next year, she said, 'You better believe it.'
The Alpine skier also remarked that her endorsements were 'important' and that working with so many companies - she is the face of Cover Girl and Pantene as well as the aforementioned P&G - 'is a balancing act.'
