Chris Brown has been accused of making a homophobic slur during the altercation that led to his arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning outside a Washington D.C. hotel.
But it's not the first time the 24-year-old is alleged to have made such a perjorative comment.
The R&B singer along with Christopher Hollosy allegedly punched a man outside the upscale W Hotel in Washington at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, law enforcement sources have said.
The alleged victim, Isaac Adams Parker, 20, of Beltsville, Maryland, told police the Brown commented: 'I’m not down with that gay s**t,' when he attempted to get into a picture that the singer was taking with a female fan.
According to police, the Grammy Award winner then hit Parker with his closed fist.
Now Radar Online are reporting that last year a man claims to have been branded a 'f*****t' by Brown at the Arclight movie theater in Hollywood.
Lucas Peter, who is an openly gay man, told RadarOnline.com that he approached Brown and asked for an autograph, before receiving the insult.
'The movie let out and I saw Chris come out the front door, sort of semi-running. I approached Chris and asked him to sign my CD cover,' Lucas told Radar.
'His bodyguard stopped me and said Chris wouldn’t be signing, so I told him Rihanna signs all the time. That’s when Chris stopped in the garage by the parking pay stand and yelled ‘f***ot’ at me.'
There was also an infamous incident when he responded to a question about gay singer Frank Ocean with the words 'Man, no homo,' though he adamantly denies that it was a homophobic comment.

But when Brown and Ocean with their attendant entourages clashed at a studio in Westlake, Los Angeles last January, Ocean alleged had been called “' f*****t,' too.
Brown is also alleged to have made offensive comments during a 2011 basketball game.
An eyewitness recalled Brown saying: ‘That’s gay!’ and ‘You’re a f*****t a**!’ to the other players,' but again Brown denied the accusation.
The serious nature of the allegations could spell trouble for the artist, given his probation status.
According to TMZ, a felony assault charge could be grounds for probation violation, Brown was next due in court for assessment on November.

In July, Brown's probation was briefly revoked after he was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles, but it was later reinstated in August.
The star was charged on May 21 with a misdemeanour hit-and-run and driving without a valid licence following the accident in the San Fernando Valley.
Though he refuted claims by the other driver involved, insisting he 'followed the proper procedures' and exchanged information with the owner despite there being no damage to his car.
The singer has also been involved in a fracas with Drake, though like the Ocean altercation it didn't result in criminal charges.
On June 13, 2012, punches and bottles were thrown when Chris clashed with rival rapper Drake at New York nightclub W.I.P.

As many as eight clubgoers are said to have sustained injuries during the brawl between the stars and their entourages, including Brown, who suffered a nasty gash to his chin.
Eva Longoria's ex-husband, San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, also got caught up in the scuffle, requiring surgery to remove a shard of glass from his eye.
Attorneys for Brown claimed that Drake instigated the fight, though he was not arrested.

Of course, most notorious of all was the domestic assault incident against singer Rihanna that had everyone in absolute shock.
On February 8, 2009, an argument in Brown's car ended with a physical altercation that left the then-20-year-old Bajan beauty hospitalised with multiple contusions to her face.
Brown, then just 19, turned himself in to police, where he was booked under suspicion of making criminal threats.
He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats on March 5, before pleading not guilty at his arraignment on April 6.

On June 22, he pleaded guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal, and on August 25 he was sentenced to five years' probation, one year of domestic violence counselling and six months' community service, while his five-year restraining order remained.
An interview on Good Morning America in which he was asked about the Rihanna incident on March 22, 2011 resulted in Brown becoming aggitated and reportedly throwing an object at a window during a commercial break.
The troubled young star later tested positive for cannabis while conducting community service, appearing in court on September 25, 2012 to determine whether or not he had violated his probation.
