Handbags at dawn! Cameron Diaz gets into a catfight with Leslie Mann... but it's just a scene for their new movie

Passersby strolling near a café in Manhattan on Tuesday morning would have had quite the shock when they saw Cameron Diaz get into a catfight with Leslie Mann.
But fortunately, it was all just a scene for their latest movie.
The two actresses were seen with their faces very close and their arms flailing as they spat lines at each other.

The pair, who were filming at Barbuto restaurant, were on the set of comedy The Other Woman, in which they play love rivals who join forces to exact revenge.
As Cameron and Leslie locked horns it looked like they were exchanging some strong words but as things turned physical, they also became comical, at one point bursting into fits of giggles.
The stars were seen shoving each other feebly out of the way, trying to trip each other up and bizarrely also bumping chests.

Their wardrobes were extremely different but the two women complemented one another as they both had yellow tones to their outfits.
Cameron looked fantastic for 40 in a summery sunshine yellow shift dress which showed off her mile-long legs.
The Bad Teacher star threatened to reveal more than she intended however as she went braless beneath the skimpy frock.
Pulling out all the stops: At one point Cameron and Leslie were even seen bumping chests

Cameron was also sporting white sandals and carried a dove grey soft leather handbag, completing her look by sweeping her blonde tresses into a ponytail.
Meanwhile Leslie was dressed far more casually in a graduated pale pink and yellow shirt with a navy collar over a white shirt.
The 41-year-old also wore beige trousers rolled up at the ankles and white boater shoes with brown and navy detailing.
Face-to-face: Cameron was seen furiously pointing her finger and spitting lines at Leslie as part of the scene

Both stars attended the 2013 Met Gala the previous evening, but it seems neither stayed up too late as they had an early start the next morning.
Leslie followed the punk theme of the evening in a dramatic strapless J Mendel gown, while Cameron looked elegant in her cobalt blue Stella McCartney dress.
Directed by Nick Cassavetes, the film, which is due out in 2014 tells the story of a woman realising she is not her boyfriend's primary lover.
After teaming up with his wife, the duo plot mutual revenge in the screen offering also starring Kate Upton, Nicki Minaj and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
