ANNOUNCING THE FIRST CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) WORKSHOP ON ULTRASOUND
KUNDUCHI BEACH HOTEL 23 – 25, OCTOBER 2014
The Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals Council (MRIPC) in collaboration with the MINDRAY and Vanguard Tanzania Ltd the Authorised Mindray Distributor in Tanzania, invites you to attend the first CPD workshop on Ultrasound.
The main focus of this workshop will be on Women and Cardiovascular imaging utilizing the state of the art ultrasound technology (3D/4D) and introduction to Point of Care (POC) concept as a current approach in Emergency Ultrasound Imaging.
It is also anticipated that this workshop will provide a unique opportunity for the participants to update themselves on modern ultrasound imaging techniques and enhance interactions between different individuals utilizing ultrasound imaging.
There will be hands on sessions provided under the supervision of experts from Mindray Ultrasound Systems to understand better and practice the advances in ultrasound technology.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The AIM of the workshop is to provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to the Registered Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals in Tanzania on the updates in Ultrasound Imaging. With the following objectives:
1)        Update professionals in Ultrasound on some basic technologies in Ultrasound imaging used in day to day diagnostic procedures
2)        Update participants on the peripheral and central Cardio-vascular imaging with focus on Echocardiography and Colour Doppler
3)        Train Professionals on the 3D/4D Ultrasound imaging Technology
4)        Introduce Point-of-Care Concept in Medical Imaging to professionals
5)        Provide hands-on sessions for the participants on the new MIDRAY Ultrasound equipment
PARTICIPANTS:
This course is targeting the Registered Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals who are practicing Ultrasound and are recognised as practicing Sonographers or Sonologists. Number of participants is strictly limited to 50 Registrants. To be eligible participants for this workshop, one must be MRIPC Registrant who is Registered, Enrolled or Enlisted as Sonographer and keeping ones name in the Register of the Council by paying Retention fees annually. Please note that only 50 participants will be admitted in the workshop and it will be on the first come, first served; therefore ensure you do not miss the opportunity by paying your registration fees in time.
All the participants will be awarded with Certificate of Participation at the end of workshop and information will be archived for award of CPD Credits when the CPD Framework will be completed.

REGISTRATION:
Participants will have to pay a participation Registration Fees of TZS.100,000/= (non-refundable), participants will be required to pay their own accommodation and transport. Transport to and from Kunduchi to City Centre will be arranged by organisers. Registration fees will be payable to the Council’s Account No. 20101000072 Account Name: Radiology and Imaging Professional Council at any NMB Branch. Registration fees will carter for Conference materials, access to conference rooms, transfers to and from Kunduchi Beach to City Centre, 10 and 04 O’clock refreshments and lunch
