Smiles in the sunshine as Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene christen their twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella in Monaco

The sun shone down on Monaco this morning as Prince Albert and Princess Charlene's five-month-old twins were baptised.
The couple were greeted by cheers as they posed for the crowds with their daughter Princess Gabriella and son Prince Jacques outside the Cathedral of Monaco after the ceremony.
The twins were dressed in traditional white christening gowns, whilst their mother looked elegant in an ivory top with a matching knee length skirt and court shoes.

Charlene accessorised her outfit with pearl drop earrings and a cream pill box hat. 
Albert wore a black suit but matched his wife's cream outfit with an ivory-colour tie.
The twins arrived at the cathedral with their nannies and were met there by their parents. 
Prince Albert's sisters were both in the pews for the ceremony Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie, along with Caroline's children Andrea, Pierre and Alexandra.

Princess Stephanie's daughters Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb were also in attendance for the royal.
Charlene's parents Lynette and Michael Whittstock had travelled from her home country of South Africa for the event, along with their sons Gareth and Sean. 
Charlene's brother had a key role at the ceremony after he was chosen by the couple to be godfather to Gabriella, while the princess's godmother is  Nerine Pienaar who is married to the retired South African rugby player Francois Pienaar. 
Meanwhile, Jaque's godparents are Albert's cousin Mr. Christopher Le Vine Jr and Mrs. Diane de Polignac Nigra.

Thousands have lined the streets of Monaco for the event, which was televised live on a giant screen on the Place du Palais. 
After watching a dance by a Provencal folk group, the couple are now making their way back to the Palace on foot via the Rue Bellando de Castro. 
This afternoon, they will have a second ceremony at the palace in the Throne Room, where Prince Jacques will be named Grand Cross of the Order of Grimaldi and Princess Gabriella will be named the Grand Officer of the Order of Grimaldi.

 As expected for such a high-profile event, several famous faces stood out from the crowd of guests leaving the cathedral after the ceremony. 
Princess Camilla of Bourbon-two Sicilies and Prince Charles of Bourbon-two Sicilies fittingly wore royal blue for the ceremony this morning. 
The model Victoria Silvstedt looked demure in a pale pink dress which she accessorised with a black belt and colourful silk scarf.
