Hiding behind a pair of sunglasses, Jane Pountney, the woman who admitted having an affair with Katie Price's husband Kieran Hayler, is pictured for the first time since the shocking news broke.

The 49-year-old former best pal of the pretty glamour girl, 35, looked forlorn as she got behind the wheel of her silver Mini.

Without a scrap of make-up on her face, married Jane looked strained as she was pictured through the window of her car.

While pregnant Katie is said to be 'disgusted' at her husband's betrayal, Jane is said to have 'patched things up' with her spouse, 51-year-old Derrick, according to The Mirror.

The paper claims the pair were seen at a community event in Sussex on Sunday, along with their two children, where they attended a duck race in their home town of Storrington.

Both were wearing their wedding rings and were laughing together. Derrick is thought to be sticking by his wife - and has reportedly begged Katie not to give an interview about the scandal.

A source told The Mirror: 'They are both determined to save their marriage. They already have moved on from all of this and it's business as usual.

'They won't let the affair affect their relationship or their family life. This has destroyed Katie and she can't believe that [they] can carry on like nothing has happened. None of this is fair to her.'

Meanwhile, Heat magazine reports that Jane, who was Katie's bridesmaid at her last two weddings, was often called to babysit for the star.

A source told the publication: 'They've known each other for years. Her kids and Kate's kids are really close as well.

'Often, Kate will leave Princess and Junior at Jane's house when she goes out, or the other way round. I'm pretty sure Kate bought her a Range Rover for her birthday a few years ago.'

Meanwhile, Price's second husband, Alex Reid, has spoken out to say that Jane made a pass at him when he was with Katie.

He told OK! magazine: 'Jane is very flirtatious! Jane tried it on with me, but I never considered it.'

Alex, who was married to Katie for just under a year until they split in January 2011, also suggested that Katie's friend of nearly 20 years didn't always have her best interests at heart.

'Jane could be two-faced,' Alex, 38, told the magazine. 'She'd say things about Kate that I thought were unkind.'

Last week, Katie, who told the nation that she caught Kieran cheating on her with her married former pal, tweeting her disgust at the discovery.
She wrote: 'Sorry to say me and kieran are divorcing him and my best friend jane pountney been having a full blown sexual affair for 7 months (sic).'
Katie took to Twitter again less than an hour after her initial post to vent her feelings about builder Kieran, describing him as a 'disgusting human being'.

In a series of messages, she wrote: 'Kieran is a disgusting human being doing this after I've just had a baby and still doing it till I caught them.

Jane publicly admitted to the affair in a joint statement with her husband, speaking of her 'deep regret' as the statement said: 'It is true that Jane and Kieran Hayler had an affair.

'This is something that Jane deeply regrets and we will not provide any more details about it. It is true that Kate found out about this affair yesterday.
Following her Twitter onslaught, Miss Price later released a statement on her website, which read: 'I appreciate most people will have seen my tweets on the subject of my marriage to Kieran.

'I make no apologies for them though it will be appreciated that, sending them immediately after Kieran confirmed to me what he had been doing for the last 7 months, those tweets were a sign of my heart breaking. That he was doing it with a close friend of nearly 20 years is hard to understand.

'This statement however is from my head, not my heart. I am appalled that someone I loved, trusted and believed in has behaved in this way.

That he did not means he will no longer be part of my life. I will do all I can to ensure he maintains a relationship with his children should he want that.

'I am so grateful for the love of my children and family at this time.'
