ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO BUILD INTENSIVE CARE UNIT AT BENJAMIN MKAPA HOSPITAL IN DODOMA

ISRAELI government has, today, promised to build, at the end the year, intensive care unit (ICU) at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma.

According to the press release from Directorate of Stale House Communications   available to the media this afternoon, the pledge was made today by Israeli’s ambassador to Tanzania Yahel Vilan during talks with President John Pombe Magufuli which were held at the state house.

Benjamin Mkapa hospital is a newly built modern hospital at the University of Dodoma and is expected to serve the university community which is the biggest in Tanzania and nearby residents.

Ambassador Yahel who is based in Nairobi informed President Magufuli that he and his delegation were very much satisfied with their visit to Tanzania which enabled to meet different government leaders and vow to rally behind government efforts to improve the economy.

“Israel will continue to work closely with Tanzania by rallying behind your efforts in developing industrial sector, agriculture and improving health services” the state house press release quoted ambassador Yahel.

Meanwhile, President John Pombe Magufuli has assured Israel that Tanzania is committed to its relations with the Middle East nation.

He told Israeli ambassador that Tanzania is strongly attached to its relations with Israel and reiterated its readiness to further those relations through exploring new areas of cooperation including trade, investment, tourism and in improving social services.

“I believe our relations and cooperation will be more beneficial to our countries and our people. I am impressed by the news that about 200 Israeli tourists are about to directly fly from Tel Aviv to Tanzania.  I warmly welcome them and Israeli investors too” said the state house statement.

President Magufuli further noted that Tanzania’s recent decision to open its diplomatic mission in Israel is geared towards consolidating those relations and hoped that Israel will reciprocate.
He asked ambassador Yahel to send a message to the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Tanzania will be happy to see Israel opens its mission in Tanzania.
