She shocked fans when she revealed a hint of her enormous back tattoo when she performed with Girls aloud earlier this year.
But now Cheryl Cole's tattoo artist has posted a picture of what is thought to be it in its entirety, showing that it covers her lower back and her entire derrière.
Nikko Hurtado, who admitted that he is in the process of 'covering and reworking' the eye-popping inking, uploaded the snap to his Instagram page on Saturday.
Dramatic inking: Cheryl Cole confirms this is her tattooed derriere after tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado posted a picture of the rose inking that he was working on on Saturday
The pop star, who has always admitted to her love of body art, has only ever showed small parts of the black and red tattoo until now.
But even she has now confirmed it is in fact her derriere and her tattoo in the candid picture.
After a few hours of being on the receiving end of mixed reactions about the inking, Cheryl then took to her Twitter page on Saturday night to discuss the skin art.
She told one interested fan: 'I've had it for maybe 7-8 months, it was a long process but only just detailed it.'
Cheryl also told other online followers that the longest she did in one sitting was for 7-8 hours and added to another: 'I have personal meaning behind it but English roses are my favourite flowers.'
Obviously in a sharing mood the singer also insisted that she's not thinking of having any other tattoos, adding: 'No just the big one will do!'
'Tough as nails': The singer, who poses with Nikko, is reportedly getting the enormous tattoo 'covered and reworked' during her trip to LA
But it wasn't only fans who commented on the art work, Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan also got involved with the debate and told her: 'No gonna lie I actually heart @CherylCole new tattoo! #dontcare X.'
She may not have expected a response but Cheryl quickly retweeted the message and told the soap star: 'Not gonna lie I actually ❤ you!!'
Wretch 32 also gave his seal of approval, telling her: 'Yo @CherylCole thumbs up bby thumbs up x.'
While Cheryl surprised concert goers when she displayed it for the first time back in February, they may not have known the full extent of the dramatic work.

But it seems that Cheryl could be after a few changes, as she seems to have revisited the famous tattoist in Los Angeles to get it reworked.
Wearing just a pink lace thong, the huge inking can be seen in all its glory, reaching from midway down the woman'd back to her upper thighs.
'Here is a in progress shot of a Tattoo I've been covering up and reworking,' Nikko wrote alongside the picture, without naming his client.
'Really exited to show healed shots. It was some intense tattooing sessions. She's tough as nails,' he added.
Cheryl spoke out about the tattoo when she had it done, telling The Sun: 'It was really painful but I think I'm done with tattoos now. It wasn't for any particular reason, I just liked the design. It took 15 hours in total.'
Body art addict? The star has admitted that, while painful, she loves her tattoos
The roses cover up a previous tattoo of a black butterfly Miss Cole, 29, had done in 2011. Though less than half the size of the roses, it still took 11 hours to complete.
Speaking about it at the time she described the butterfly as being ‘deeply personal’ and signifying ‘a fresh start’.
The singer is known for revealing her body art through her music - she previously unveiled her ninth tattoo, barbed wire around her leg during the music video for Call My Name.
Cheryl has previously shown off a tattoo on her left bottom cheek and the new body art appears to stem from her old design.
