She is the queen of switching up her look, sound and sometimes even accent.
But one role that is consistent in Madonna’s life is that of being a mother to her four children.
And on Friday the 54-year-old had that hat firmly on as she arrived in London alongside her youngest adopted children Mercy James and David Banda.
They've arrived! Madonna arrived at Heathrow airport in London with David Banda and daughter Mercy James on Friday
Holding on to her children’s hands the singer looked a far cry from her on stage self, dressed down in flight friendly clothes.
Opting for comfort, rather than some of the more provocative items she wears on stage, she wore a pair of loose fitting black trousers.
She teamed them with a black top, black pointy loafers and a leopard print scarf tied around her neck.
Hold on tight: Madonna held onto David's hand as they made their way through the airport
Her blonde has was un-styled, falling with a slight wave around her shoulder, while she covered her eyes with a large pair of shades.
David showed he’s probably been picking up style tips from his mother and wore an eye-catching green Adidas tracksuit, with a matching hat.
Mercy was more low-key wearing slim fit black jeans and a grey T-shirt with a white skull motif across the front.
Quality time: Madonna makes sure her children get the attention they need when she's not working
The gang weren’t joined by Madonna’s eldest children Rocco and Lourdes, nor was her boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.
Madonna recently opened up about her parenting skills while promoting her new documentary Madonna: The MDNA Tour.
The singer confessed on Good Morning American that she is a 'pretty strict' mother, and that she only just gifted her 16-year-old daughter Lourdes with an iPhone, while son Rocco, 12, is yet to be given a mobile device.
The boys are out of town: Rocco Ritchie (L) and Madonna's boyfriend Brahim Zaibat did not accompany them
Eldest: Her daughter Lourdes, 16, also was not present on the flight
But she sighed as she admitted, only half in jest: 'Ever since my daughter got an iPhone she stopped talking to me.'
And she revealed that she is still getting used to that fact that Lourdes is nearly an adult.
'Seeing my daughter at 16 - it's kind of uncomfortable,' she said. 'She's still my little girl and she's also a woman.'
