After becoming a star in her own right thanks to her turn as sadist teacher Sue Sylvester, Jane Lynch has taken her mean streak to Broadway.
The comedic actress made her Broadway debut on Thursday evening in Annie:The Musical at The Palace Theatre, in New York City.
The 52-year-old may have been the star of the show, but she was also supported by some very familiar faces in the shape of her Glee co-stars.

Some of the actors who play the very same teenagers that Sue Sylvester terrorises made the effort to attend the show.
Kevin McHale, who plays wheelchair bound Artie Abrams, looked colourful in his blue and green shirt, while co-star Chris Colfer was smart casual in a brown leather jacket.
Darren Criss also showed up to watch Lynch perform as he cut a cool figure in a white shirt and blue jeans.

Jane was obviously very appreciative of her friends making the effort to view her debut and she tweeted: 'Thanks my @GLEETV family for supporting me tonight at @ANNIEonBroadway !!'
However, she also thanked her new co-stars and posted: 'So much love to my new @ANNIEonBroadway family!!! What a night. You have made me one happy Hannigan.'
Jane stars in Annie as the cruel alcoholic Miss Agatha Hannigan who manages the orphanage and plots to become filthy rich at Annie's expense.
Her turn, which runs until 14 July, has been well received by fans with one person tweeting: '@janemarielynch is BEEYOND as Miss Hannigan in @ANNIEONBROADWAY. GO SEE HER STAT.'

Lynch is no stranger to the stage having previously performed with Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City.
However, this role marks her Broadway debut as she replaces Tony Award-winning actress Katie Finneran who has left to begin filming a new NBC comedy series with Michael J. Fox.

Jane said in an earlier statement: 'Some may say I know a thing or two about playing intimidating authority figures.
'So I am excited and honored to be making my Broadway debut with the wonderful Annie company at the Palace Theatre and joining the pantheon of women who have taken on the great and irresistible role of wicked Miss Hannigan.'
After the show many of the cast and crew headed to Ruby Foo's for an after party.
