Michael, 49, was today described as "fine” by his publicist.
The crash occurred near the junction for the M25 near Watford, Herts at 5.50pm yesterday. Michael was a passenger in a Range Rover and no other vehicle was involved, the spokesman added.
A man travelling with George was flown by air ambulance to a specialist trauma centre in London - though it is unclear as yet if this was the driver.

His spokesman said: “George Michael was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic accident yesterday evening; no third party was involved. He is being treated for superficial cuts and bruises but is fine. We have no further comment at this time.”
Three lanes of the M1 and the entry slip road from the M25 were closed causing huge disruption for hundreds of motorists during yesterday's rush hour.
Hertfordshire Police said the northbound carriageway of the road was closed for an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Last night reports emerged of an accident on the M1 which happened at the same time as the incident which involved the George Michael.
Highways Agency CCTV showed ambulances surrounding a car with the hold up causing long tailbacks.

In July 2010, the singer lost control of his Range Rover and smashed into a Snappy Snaps shop front in Hampstead, London.
He was handed an eight-week jail sentence for crashing while under the influence of cannabis.
Michael - real name Georgios Panayiotou - was also banned from driving for five years and slapped with a £1,250 fine.
