A rapper revealed today how he tried to return a £10 note to a woman who dropped it on a street, only for her to tell him: ‘Sorry, I'm not into black boys.’
Joe Christie, 23, said he was walking behind the woman - believed to have been aged about 30 - to buy food in Streatham, South London, when he saw the money fall from her jacket pocket.
But the music production student claimed that when he offered it back to her, she rapidly walked away following her astonishing response.
And Mr Christie decided to make the most of his unexpected gains on Saturday afternoon by spending £2.95 of it on chicken and chips.
He insisted that he was neither offended nor bothered by her words, but was still surprised at the blunt response - because she 'wasn’t fit'.
Mr Christie, who is set to release a rap about the incident later this week, told MailOnline: ‘I think she maybe thought I was hitting on her. I could have stood there and tried to make a scene.
‘But London is a fast-moving place - I didn’t want to chase her down the street. I wasn’t really that shocked, because people have said worse. I was just (thinking) “you just bought my lunch”.
'She was dead serious. You would not have followed her after that. What shocked me - because I’m 23, she looked about 31 or 32, she looked like she’d probably be a mum, she was in her work clothes. I thought she was flattering herself - by a young man’s standards she wasn’t fit.’

Mr Christie’s original Facebook post about the incident has had more than 130,000 likes, 6,000 shares and 1,000 comments. He put up a photograph of a £5 note, two £1 coins and a 5p piece.
And he wrote: ‘This is a picture of £7.05p. Twenty minutes ago I was on Streatham High Street in South London. A woman about three metres in front of me no older than 30 dropped a £10 note from her jacket pocket.

'I picked it up, walked up to her and said “Excuse me luv…” Before I had a chance to finish my sentence she said “Sorry, I'm not into black boys" and walked off in a hurry. Thanks for buying me lunch.'
Mr Christie, who is currently studying music production at Bimm (British and Irish Modern Music Institute) college in Fulham, South-West London, has been rapping for ten years.
He said he has supported grime artist Skepta live, and has also worked with the rapper Devilman.
