Blues confirm Jose return

KIT'S OFFICIAL ... Jose Mourinho poses with new Chelsea kit after his appointment as new boss

JOSE MOURINHO has been confirmed as the new Chelsea boss — just as SunSport told you he would.

We exclusively revealed on May 3 that the Special One would be making a sensational return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
And the Blues today announced that Mourinho had signed a four-year deal to be their manager for the second time.
Chief executive Ron Gourlay said: “I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea.
“His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate.
“It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our No1 choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that.
“He was and remains a hugely popular figure at the club and everyone here looks forward to working with him again.
Mourinho brings with him three coaching staff in Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais — all of whom have been given the title of assistant first-team coach.
The Portuguese boss will be officially presented during a Press conference at Stamford Bridge next Monday.
But speaking to Chelsea TV, Mourinho said: “Let’s make a little bit of a difference.
“I’ve never hid that in football I had two great passions — Inter and Chelsea. And Chelsea is more than important for me.
“It was very, very hard to play against Chelsea and I did it only twice which was not so bad.
“So now I promise exactly the same things I promised in 2004.”

Mourinho, 50, took charge of his last Real Madrid game on Saturday — a 4-2 win over Osasuna.
That ended a turbulent three-year reign at the Bernabeu, where he moved after two seasons in Italy with Inter Milan.
Mourinho first made his name as boss of Porto, leading the Portuguese side to Champions League glory.
He famously took the reins at Chelsea in the summer of 2004 and went on to win the Premier League in his first two seasons.
Mourinho also claimed one FA Cup and two League Cups before he was sensationally axed by Blues owner Roman Abramovich in September 2007.
Chelsea have had SEVEN managers since, with Rafa Benitez replacing Roberto Di Matteo on an interim basis last season.
