Worst injury ever ... 'the bone was literally out'

A US college basketball player’s horrific leg-break reduces his team to tears – as SIX-INCHES of bone sticks out of his shin.
Despite the injury, brave Kevin Ware called to his teammates to “win the game, win the game”.
Ware, a guard with the Louisville Cardinals, landed awkwardly during yesterday’s game against Duke University and broke his leg in two places.
It is being dubbed one of the sport’s worst injuries EVER with coach Rick Pitino saying “I’ve not seen that in my life”.
Ware’s best friend on the team, Chane Behanan, collapsed to his knees and looked like he was going to be sick.
He said: “The bone was literally out. I saw white, it was literally out. I’ve never seen anything like that. I don’t remember the last time I cried.”
The horrified crowd fell silent and some of Ware’s teammates cried when they saw the gruesome injury.
Medics rushed onto the court and covered his leg with towels due to the graphic nature of the break.
CBS, the US television channel showing the game, had to stop showing replays of the nasty fall.
After the accident, Ware’s team went more than three-minutes without scoring but went on to win the match 85-63.
Mr Pitino said: “We won this for him.”
Ware was taken straight to hospital where he underwent successful surgery though it is not known how long he will take to recover.
