JOSE MOURINHO was outclassed on the pitch and outwitted off it by Robert Lewandowski’s Borussia FOUR-tmund.
Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp hit back after the Real Madrid chief claimed referee Bjorn Kuipers should have disallowed two of Lewandowski’s four goals.
Manchester United target Lewandowski struck the eighth-minute opener after Mario Goetze’s perfect cross.
Mats Hummels’ howler allowed Gonzalo Higuain to set up Cristiano Ronaldo’s leveller before half-time.
But, five minutes into the restart, Lewandowski was onside and slotted home after Marco Reus’ miskicked shot fell his way.
The Pole completed his hat-trick with a spectacular turn and right-footed shot into the roof of the net.

REAL MADRID boss hails Dortmund while Jurgen Klopp says his side will attack in second leg
Finally, on 67 minutes, Xabi Alonso brought down Reus in the box and Lewandowski converted to floor Madrid. Mourinho said: “I don’t know if the penalty is an error of the ref, I don’t know if the second goal is offside.
“The best team won but I don’t know if two or three is right.”
Klopp snapped back: “I saw the goals, I’m not sure... there are so many.
“The third goal was so brilliant no ref in the world is allowed to take this goal back.”
Mourinho did admit his side could not live with Lewandowski.
He said: “We knew everything about Lewandowski. We studied him in detail — but then we lost him for three of the goals which was very disappointing.”
Yet Mourinho insisted Madrid CAN draw inspiration from their famous 1980s European comebacks when they overturned heavy defeats at home.
He added: “In football nothing is impossible, even when it seems impossible... and, for that, the experience exists.
“If Borussia eliminate us next Tuesday, they must suffer and Madrid’s players must have nothing left to give.”
But Klopp scoffed: “I’m sure that he hopes they will come back. In my life I never thought we could score four goals in a Champions League semi-final.”
As for Lewandowski, Mourinho had a special message for United boss Alex Ferguson: “He knows his football and he’s cool. I’m sure he’ll stay at Dortmund.”
